Dante configuration

These pages describe best practice for configuration of the Dante SOCKS server and client, for a single major release of Dante, but functionality that is not present in earlier versions will in some cases be noted.

The links on the left side of the page point to the different pages, starting with a short overview of the SOCKS standard, and how the operations supported by the protocol relate to the operations that can be controlled by the Dante client and server parts.

These pages describe the recommended way to configure both the client and server, for the most common usage scenarios. For a more complete overview of the configuration file syntax and supported options, the manual pages should be consulted. The Dante documentation page has an overview of the available documentation.
